What do you do when people just annoy you ?

U know those people that send you into the depths of frustration just by merely opening their mouths ? I often wonder what the correct etiquette is regarding matters such as this.

Do you smile politely and make a hasty exit ?

Do you entertain the abominable conversation and just stomach the comments that are just itiching to make themselves heard in response to the ‘’annoyer’’? (you being the anoyee)…crikey ! I think I just made up a word J

Do you firmly just shut the annoyer down there and then, with a sharp remark ?

I must admit, I’ve tried option 1 and 2 and just have not been brave enough to attempt option 3….until today that is!

My philosophy is that if you don’t have anything productive to say, rather not say anything at all. Yet people seem to have the urge to have their voices heard, no matter how ludicrous or obnoxious they sound.

I sometimes just stand there gobsmacked and think ‘’am I the only person that thinks this ?’’ about said annoyer? Conversations or rather gossip at the coffee station seems to confirm that I am not alone in my opinions. Further analysis into the root cause of this condition seems to be low self esteem, or the constant urge to impress others…..the irritation of others is merely a by-product.

So my solution to surviving this social hiccup, is to return to my desk quietly and plug in my earphones to the sounds of Daughtry, in the hopes that I can avoid said annoyer for the rest of the day.
